Portillo's Brings Back Heart-Shaped Cake for Mother's Day

Portillo's brings back limited-edition heart-shaped cakes for Mother's Day

Portillo’s reshaped its popular "famous chocolate cake" in celebration of Mother's Day.

The restaurant chain is known for its menu of Chicago-style favorites. The limited-edition cakes will retail at $15.99 and are available for pre-order online or phone ordering and can also be delivered.

In-store pick-up will be from May 10-13 and cake availability for nationwide shipping will be from May 1-31, priced at $39.99.

All orders include one single-layer chocolate cake, a spatula and a fo-it-yourself icing.

The popular restaurant had previously reshaped its chocolate cake for Valentine's Day. Back in February, Portillo's created a partnership with the American Red Cross.

"Portillo’s has always valued the importance of belonging to the local community and finding ways to support charitable endeavors," said CEO Keith Kinsey in a statement. "As a Marine, our founder Dick Portillo has supported charitable giving to support our service men and women."

Kinsey said 100 percent of cake proceeds up to $25,000 would go to the American Red Cross.

The Valentine's Day cake was part of the chain's charitable partnership program, Portillo’s For Good.
