Police: Woman Attacked While Jogging in Busse Woods

Police say a woman was attacked Sunday while jogging on a popular running path in suburban Chicago.

Cook County Sheriff's officers responded to a report of an attempted criminal sexual assault around 6:40 p.m. in Busse Woods in northwest suburban Elk Grove Village.

A 31-year-old woman reported a man attempted to sexually assault her while she was jogging in the woods near Grove no. 4. The woman used her pepper spray on the man and was able to run away, police said.

She was taken to an area hospital where she was treated for minor injuries and release.

The offender was described as a man in his early 30s, standing between 6 feet and 6 feet, 3 inches tall. The man was clean shaven and wore a black hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants, police said.
