Police on Thursday filed charges against a Hammond man accused in the June robbery of an elderly man at the NICTD Hammond South Shore Station.
Darryl Leigh Kilgore, 31, of Hammond, was charged by the Lake County Prosecutor’s office with felony robbery resulting in bodily injury, but he has not yet been arrested and remains at-large, officials said.

Police said an 84-year-old man had just purchased a newspaper from inside the train station and was walking on the train boarding platform when he was physically assaulted and robbed of his wallet.
Kilgore was identified with the help of the public who saw video of the robbery in the media and called transit police. Witnesses also identified Kilgore from a police photo line-up of possible suspects.
