The 26-year-old man's death marks the fifth shooting death since Friday evening

A man was shot to death early Sunday in the South Side Marquette Park neighborhood, police said.

The 26-year-old man was standing on the sidewalk in the 3100 block of West 64th Street at about 12:40 a.m. when two males walked up and fired shots, police said.

The man was shot in the chest and pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed the fatality, but didn’t release additional details.

The man's death marks the fifth shooting death since Friday evening.
