Police Investigate Connected Homicides in Northwest Indiana

Gary police are investigating the connection between two homicides in northwest Indiana.

At 7 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a call in the 800 block of Ohio Street and found a female, whose age was not immediately available, “with an apparent gunshot wound,” according to a statement from Gary police.

Eight hours later, a male was found in the area of 2nd Avenue and Bridge Street at 3 p.m. His age and cause of death were not immediately known.

The Lake County coroner’s office pronounced both victims at the scene, and their deaths were ruled homicides, police said.

“The investigations are still in the early stages however there does appear to be a connection between the two victims,” police said.
