Police are beefing up patrols in a northwest Indiana town after they received “several complaints” about a peeping Tom.
LaPorte County Police Captain Michael Kellems said the department has told patrol shifts to increase their presence in the Weatherstone Village neighborhood in Michigan City following the recent string of reported incidents.
“In the past, we have had investigators work the area,” Kellems said. “We are exploring the possibility of assigning investigators to the area in addition to our increased patrol.”
The neighborhood had numerous complaints of similar incidents last year. Kellems said an arrest was made at the time, but the suspect, a juvenile, has since been released from detention.
One resident told the Northwest Indiana Times his security cameras have captured what appears to be the same individual three times outside his home. In each incident, the footage appears to show the man pressing his face against the glass, the publication reports, but no clear image of the person’s face has been recorded.
No arrests have been made in the latest string of reports.
