1 Killed, Several Hurt in Crash During Police Pursuit in South Suburbs

A person was killed and several others were injured when a vehicle being pursued by police crashed Friday in the south suburbs.

The pursuit began in Calumet City and ended with a crash at Sibley Boulevard and Chicago Road in Dolton, according to Dolton police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

Calumet City officials were not immediately available to provide additional information.

One person was taken to Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, where they were pronounced dead at 3:40 p.m., authorities said. Several other people were injured in the crash.

The medical examiner’s office did not release the identity of the person who died Friday night.
