White Christmas? Odds Look Good

Three storms predicted days before Christmas

What are the odds that Chicago will have a White Christmas?

Pretty good actually.

Chicago storm trackers are predicting a 42 percent chance of snow next week for the city -- historically better odds than past years, says Meteorologist Tom Skilling.

Forecasts indicate three weather systems passing through the area before Christmas Day -- including one that may hit on Christmas Eve, the Chicago Tribune reports.

But don't hold your breath for a repeat of the 1951 snowstorm that buried Chicagoans under 17 inches of snow, advises Tribune meteorologist Steve Kahn.

"I don't see any really big storms," Kahn said.  "But some light snow."

There's always next year.
