Seth Goodwin, 24, was last seen Monday and reported missing to Grayslake police on Tuesday

A 24-year-old man reported missing last week was found dead Sunday in a motorcycle crash in the northern suburbs.

According to police, a bicyclist flagged down a Lake County Sheriff’s Deputy at approximately 11:40 a.m. Sunday. He told the officer that as he was cycling, he saw a motorcycle in a ditch on the west side of the street at Route 45 north of Dada Drive in Lake Villa Township.

When deputies arrived, they found the motorcycle and the driver, who was declared dead at the scene.

He was later identified as 24-year-old Seth J. Goodwin, of the 400 block of Center Street in Grayslake. Goodwin was last seen on Monday, and reported missing to Grayslake Police Department on Tuesday after not showing up to his girlfriend’s home as planned.

The crash remains under investigation by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office Technical Crash Investigations Unit.
