UPDATE: Police issued a statement just before 5:30 p.m. indicating that Walton had been found in good health and was reunited with his family. No other details were released.
A search continued Saturday for a missing retired Chicago police sergeant with cancer and severe dementia.
Eldge Walton, 74, was last seen leaving his south side home on Friday, authorities said.
He was wearing a blue Chicago police uniform coat with a turquoise-colored sweater underneath. He also had a blue White Sox cap and white and blue gym shoes.
Walton stands about six feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds, authorities said.
