Man Pistol-Whipped, Carjacked in South Loop Alley: Police

A man leaving work in the South Loop was pistol-whipped and carjacked by two men, authorities said.

The 32-year-old man was in his vehicle, which was parked in an alley around 11:15 p.m. Monday on 13th Street near Wabash, when two men walked up and pulled him out of the car at gunpoint, Chicago police said. The men then hit the driver in the head with a handgun and fled in the 2009 Dodge Journey.

The driver refused treatment at the scene and no one was in custody, according to authorities.

Area Central detectives were investigating.
