A man fleeing from police was seriously injured after he ran onto the Bishop Ford Expressway and was struck by a car.
The man was allegedly driving a stolen vehicle in the 10500 block of South State Street at about 11:55 p.m. Saturday when police began pursuing him.
The driver then struck a pole in the 10000 block of South Indiana, exited the vehicle and fled on foot onto the Bishop Ford Expressway, where he was struck by a passing car, police said.
The driver taken into police custody and transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in serious condition, police said.
