A man is in critical condition after he was hit by a CTA bus in Chicago’s Gresham neighborhood on the South Side, police said.
According to authorities, a 48-year-old man was standing on a curb in the first block of West 79th Street at approximately 1:35 p.m. when he accidentally fell under the front tire of a departing bus.
Police say the bus then ran the man over, and he was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
The bus driver told police she didn’t see the man as she pulled the vehicle away from the curb.
