ZooLights at Lincoln Park Zoo Officially Open For The Holidays

The holiday lights display will remain open until Jan. 5

More than two million dazzling lights flickered on for the holiday season Friday as Lincoln Park Zoo's ZooLights officially opened to the public.

Instead of Black Friday shopping, many people headed to the zoo to get a first glimpse of the display all lit up.

ZooLights features hundreds of luminous displays and activities including ice-sculpture carving, photos with Santa and even a musical light show, according to a news release. The zoo also offers ticketed experiences such as cookie decoration and a Ferris wheel.

Visitors will also be able to see animals and enjoy some hot chocolate, warmed spice wine and other specials.

The installation will remain open until Jan. 5 as the holiday tradition celebrates its 25th anniversary.

For tickets and more information, visitors are encouraged to check out the zoo's website.
