Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant is no stranger to history, and he made even more of it on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field.
When Bryant took the field in the first inning, Bryant played in his 150th game of the season, a plateau that he has now reached in each of his first three MLB seasons.
According to Baseball Reference’s Play Index, Bryant is the first player in Cubs history to ever appear in 150 or more games in each of his first three big league seasons, and he is just the 11th player in MLB history to hit that milestone.

During those three seasons, Bryant has put up some staggering numbers, racking up an incredible 19.7 Wins Above Replacement and pounding 94 home runs in 456 career games. He also has a .288 career batting average, an NL MVP Award on his mantel, and a World Series ring on his finger.
Bryant will also be appearing in his third consecutive postseason with the Cubs, something that no living Cubs player has ever achieved, as the last time the team made three straight playoff appearances was over a century ago.
