How Personal Attention Makes Business Grow

Horacio Lopez

Callers to Pro/Data Payroll Services never have to leave a voice mail.  Horacio Lopez, its president and owner, tries to answer personally.  He works hard to ensure customer satisfaction and dedicates himself to providing personalized attention to each client.

The attention pays off.

"When I joined, I had 140 clients," Lopez said.  "And now our company consists of over 1,100 clients."

He works so hard, in fact, that he is being recognized as the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce member of the year on March 1 in the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place, Chicago.

"It means a great deal to be recognized by your peers," Lopez said.

The 14-year-old company provides services such as payroll processing, human resource services support, background searches, unemployment cost management support and time and labor management services.  And what does an award like this mean for the business?  According to Lopez, it means "greater exposure and easier acceptance."

Lopez is also involved in many civic organizations, such as the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and the Consumers Credit Union.

"If you have a dream, keep working at it.  Become an expert.  Just make sure that you do the best you can to the best of your ability.  Have a business plan and surround yourself with associates and employees that are going to share in your dream," Lopez said.
