A Chicago hair salon was robbed on Monday, possibly by the same man who's targeted at least seven salons this month, mostly in the suburbs.
The latest robbery happened at the Great Clips salon at 1235 Clybourn Avenue shortly after 10 a.m.
Manager Lorri Hykes said the robber walked in with a gun, put a bag on the counter and told a female employee to give him the money before running away with about $130.
"I can't believe they did it, but I know it's been going around," Hykes said. "I just tell them to be careful and watch out. We always have two people in the shop no matter what."
Chicago Police could not confirm if Monday's robbery was believed to be committed by the same man. Hykes say there was no surveillance video.
Last week, a robber targeted a Hair Cuttery in Niles, although in that incident the robber claimed he had a gun but didn't show it.
Salons in Skokie, Lombard, Glen Ellyn, Morton Grove and Chicago have all been hit by the same man, police say.
The robber is described as being in his 30s, around 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing around 200 pounds. He's often seen wearing black sunglasses and a black hooded jacket.
Police believe he's targeting chain hair salons.
