One of Chicago’s most popular doughnut chains is officially shutting down, the company’s founder said Thursday.

Glazed and Infused has already shut down three of its locations, including a restaurant in the Loop, and will close its final location in River North on New Year’s Eve, according to multiple reports.

“After five wonderful years as Chicago’s beloved doughnut concept I have made the decision to close Glazed and Infused,” founder Scott Harris said. “I appreciate all love and support our customers have given us over the years.”

According to Eater Chicago, employees were notified on Tuesday that the chain was shutting down, and were not given warning or severance pay.

The company was known for its extravagant doughnut creations and its work in the community, which included a popular partnership with the Salvation Army that honoured “Doughnut Girls.”
