Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Erik Gustafsson is busy preparing for the new hockey season, but this week he had another reason to celebrate.
Gustafsson and his wife Hannah welcomed their second daughter into the world this week, as Celie Gustafsson was born. The Blackhawks congratulated the defenseman on the big day, posting an adorable photo of Gustafsson and his two daughters:
The defenseman is coming off of a breakout season with the Blackhawks, scoring 17 goals and dishing out 43 assists in 79 games. He is entering the final year of his contract with the Blackhawks, and could be in line for a big pay bump with another strong campaign.
The Blackhawks will have two more preseason games before they kick off the regular season, including a home tilt against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday. Their season opener in Prague against the Philadelphia Flyers will take place Oct. 4.
