Elderly Woman Craves Answers to Daughter's Disappearance

At 75, mother wants to know what happened in 1992

Nearly 17 years after her daughter disappeared during a night of bar-hopping on Chicago's South Side, 75-year-old
Irene Veloz is offering a new reward of $20,000 for anyone who can tell her or police what happened.

Elizabeth Veloz joined a group of six men and women to visit some taverns on July 25, 1992. The 28-year-old left her three
children at home with her mother.

The last time anyone saw Elizabeth Veloz was in a tavern parking lot with the three men in her party. The men later told authorities they dropped her at a pay phone in East Chicago, Ind.

She never made it home.

There were never any phone calls, credit card transactions or activity with her Social Security number to suggest she ran away.
