Dashcam Footage Captures Apparent Albany Park Shootout

A dramatic dashcam video captured an apparent shootout in broad daylight in Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood.

The user who posted the video to YouTube wrote they attained the footage of the Saturday shooting from a dashcam in a nearby parked car.

Chicago police confirm two people exchanged gunfire in the 4800 block of North Kenneth Avenue that day.

No one was injured, but a house and a car were damaged, according to police.

Neighbor Cheyenne Clark, 12, told NBC Chicago she was playing on the computer in her house when she heard shots fired outside.

“I was like shivering,” Clark said. “There was a pause in the middle, then back to shooting.”

Albany Park resident Glenn Contreras said this wasn’t the first time he’s heard gunshots fired on his block.

“I’ve heard gunshots before but when you actually see it in a video it brings you back to reality that this is actually happening,” Contreras said.

A man working at a nearby 7 Eleven convenience store told NBC Chicago one of the groups of men involved in the shooting was in his store just minutes before the altercation went down.

No details have been released as to why the shooting broke out.

Chicago police said they are investigating the incident. No arrests have been made.
