Cubs Hold Rally on Tuesday

The Chicago Cubs on Monday announced Postseason Rally 2008 to celebrate the Cubs post-season berth and kick-off the week's playoff games at Wrigley Field. The event will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, September 30 at Daley Plaza in downtown Chicago. 

"Tuesday's celebration is a great way for Cubs fans to gear up for the post-season run," said Matt Wszolek, Chicago Cubs Director of Sales and Promotions. "We truly have the best fans in baseball and the rally at Daley Plaza is a testament to them and the accomplishments of the 2008 Chicago Cubs."

Highlighting the afternoon's events, which will be emceed by Chicago's own Jim Belushi, are scheduled appearances from Governor Rod Blagojevich, Chicago Mayor Richard Daley and Hall of Famer Billy Williams.

Cubs legend Ron Santo and Cubs Chairman Crane Kenney will also be in attendance.

Fans in post-season markets will celebrate the arrival of the 2008 Major League Baseball postseason and their Club's chance to play for the 2008 World Series Championship title with the fifth annual "Postseason Rally 2008" on September 29-30.  "Postseason Rally 2008" consists of fan celebrations staged by playoff-bound Clubs in their respective home markets in conjunction with Major League Baseball.

All "Postseason Rally 2008" events are open to the public, free of charge and will take place rain or shine.
