Jimenez will bat fifth and play left field as the Sox kick off their season

The Chicago White Sox will be dodging raindrops as they look to open their season with a win against the Kansas City Royals, and manager Rick Renteria has revealed how his team will line up for the big game.

The White Sox, looking to rebound after a few tough seasons, will have an exciting new prospect in the lineup on Thursday, as outfielder Eloy Jimenez will bat fifth and play left field in his big league debut.

Pitcher Carlos Rodon will take the ball for the White Sox as they take on their American League Central rival at Kaufman Stadium.

Here is the full lineup for the South Siders:

1 Leury Garcia – CF

2 Yoan Moncada – 3B

3 Jose Abreu – 1B

4 Yonder Alonso – DH

5 Eloy Jimenez – LF

6 Daniel Palka – RF

7 Tim Anderson – SS

8 James McCann – C
