Chicago White Sox slugger Matt Davidson has had a very interesting season for the team, and on Friday he did something that only one other player has done in American League history.

Davidson, who has 15 home runs and 39 RBI this season, pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the team’s 10-5 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays. The appearance was his second of the season, and by accomplishing that feat he joined some incredible company.

According to Christopher Kamka of NBC Sports Chicago, Davidson is now just the second player in American League history to hit 15 or more home runs and to make multiple pitching appearances in the same season.

The only other player to accomplish the feat is legendary Hall of Fame slugger Babe Ruth, who did it both with the Boston Red Sox in 1919 and with the New York Yankees in 1921.

Only one other player has accomplished the feat since 1900, as former Cubs star Dave Kingman did it with the San Francisco Giants in 1973.

Davidson and the White Sox will continue their series against the Blue Jays on Saturday night.
