With National Doughnut Day just around the corner, a premier travel website has unveiled its tasty choice for the best doughnut in the state of Illinois.
According to Travelocity, the best doughnut in the state belongs to Old Fashioned Donuts, located on the South Side of Chicago.
The Roseland institution, in business for decades, features all the classics that doughnut fans love, including rings, long johns, doughnut holes, and the restaurant’s signature apple fritter.
Travelocity also touts the bakery’s Texas doughnuts, which are “big enough to double as a travel pillow,” according to the website.
The restaurant is located in the 11000 block of South Michigan Avenue, and is open from 6 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday.
