Chicago Cubs' Game Rained Out vs. Washington Nationals

The Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals were set to play at Nationals Park Friday, but Mother Nature had other ideas as the contest was rained out.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at 6:05, but started after an hour-long delay. In the bottom of the second, the rain returned, and the game was delayed for several more hours before finally being postponed around 11 p.m.

The contest will be made up Saturday afternoon as part of a doubleheader. First pitch in the first game is scheduled at 2:05 p.m., and the second game will begin 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first contest.

Jon Lester, who pitched in one inning of the game Friday, will not start Saturday, and instead Jaime Garcia will start in the first contest. Cole Hamels, who was originally slated to pitch against Max Scherzer on Saturday, will pitch the second game.
