Chicago Bulls Waive Carmelo Anthony, Allowing Him to Hit Free Agency

Anthony did not play for the Bulls after being acquired in January

The Chicago Bulls, as expected, have waived forward Carmelo Anthony after acquiring him via trade earlier this year.

Anthony, who was traded to the Bulls on Jan. 22 in a swap with the Houston Rockets, didn’t play any games with the Bulls, and will become a free agent if he clears waivers.

The Bulls also made another roster move, acquiring guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and cash considerations from the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for a protected 2020 second round draft pick.

Luwawu-Cabarrot has scored 1.7 points and hauled down 0.9 rebounds per game in limited action this season.
