Cedar Point to Rename Ride After Six Flags Great America Wins World Series Bet

The World Series was quite a wild ride for Chicago and Cleveland. And now, thanks to a friendly wager between both cities' amusement parks, another wild ride will be getting a new name.

In a video posted online ahead of Game 1 of the World Series, Six Flags Great America in north suburban Gurnee proposed a bet to Sandusky-based Cedar Point.

The wager began simply enough: If the Cubs won the World Series, the Cedar Point team had to post a video of themselves singing "Go Cubs Go."

Cedar Point accepted, then upped the ante. If the Indians won, Great America's staff would have to sing "Cleveland Rocks," and the winning city's park would get to choose a ride at the other to rename for the entire 2017 opening weekend.

By now, we all know how the World Series ended - and Cedar Point made good on their promise.

The Ohio park posted a video on Friday of some very glum staff members adorned in Cubs gear, singing the team's victory song. They also revealed that the Top Thrill Dragster will be named the "Top Thrill Cubster" in May. [[400129561, C]]
