Bra Bandit Gets Money's Worth

Over $14,000 worth of bras stolen

Evansville, Ind. -- Police are investigating the theft of more than 300 bras from a Victoria's Secret store.

The bras taken from display drawers and were worth $45 each. That means the 320 stolen bras are valued at more than $14,000.

An Evansville police report says store employees noticed the bras missing on Dec. 20, but the theft wasn't reported to police until Monday.

Police are reporedly reviewing the store's surveillance tapes for possible suspects.

It was not immediately clear why the store waited so long to report this incident, though Evansville Police Department Spokesman Steve Green said chains often conduct their own internal investigations or work with their corporate offices before reporting crimes.

It's not the first time a bra bandit has hit a Victoria's Secret store.

Last October, employees said a woman entered the store and went directly to the new bras cabinet and stuffed 160 undergarments into a shopping bag before running out of the store.
