Rod Blagojevich had a message Tuesday morning for the people who will likely be selected to sit on the jury in his corruption trial.
It sounded a lot like commisseration.
"[They'll] be committing their time and giving up a lot of their summer -- quite possibly all of their summer -- to do their public service and sit in judgement of a member of the community," Blagojevich said. "They'll be the ones who will ultimately show exactly what has happened here."
The implication being: I feel for you guys; please find me innocent.
Blagojevich marked what is expected to be the first day of his trial with optimism.
"Now today, the truth will finally come out with opening statements. I can finally tell you all the things I've been dying to tell you for the last year and a half."
