Bill Ayers Opens Up on Election Day

Ayers chats with reporters on his front stoop

After nearly a year of avoiding the media and refusing to make any public comment, Bill Ayers finally spoke out on Election Day.

Ayers is the Hyde Park neighbor of the Obama family and a professor at the University of Illinois at Chicago.  He's been a "talking-point" throughout the presidential campaign and was more than once referenced by the McCain campaign as a terrorist.

The Sun-Times' Lynn Sweet writes in her blog that Ayers doesn't seem to have minded. "He seemed unbothered to have been part of what he called 'the Swiftboating process of the 2008 campaign," Sweet says.
