A man was hit over the head with a pistol and then robbed near the Red Line in Downtown Chicago Sunday morning, officials said.
According to authorities, the incident took place in the first block of East Chicago near the Red Line around 4:45 a.m. Sunday.
A 26-year-old was hit over the head with a pistol and robbed by five to six male black offenders that took the victim’s cell phone and gym bag, and later fled the scene by foot, police said.
Chicago officials said the victim walked into Northwestern Hospital where the victim was treated and released in good condition.
The investigation is still ongoing.
