Suburban Bar Posts Impressive Mannequin Challenge

Talk about holding your liquor.

A suburban bar has joined the viral trend known as the "mannequin challenge" in an impressive video that saw more than a dozen patrons posing still for more than a minute-and-a-half.

Double “J” Sports Bar in Joliet posted video of their challenge over the weekend. It has since been seen more than 11,000 times.

The owner of the bar said the video took about 20 minutes in total to make, but only two takes.

"I wanted to be one of the first bars in Joliet to do this and I believe I was," Jeff Reid said.

The “mannequin challenge” has been sweeping the nation drawing attention from celebrities, fitness gurus, students and news teams (including even NBC Chicago) alike.

The phenomenon itself is apparently first popped up in October. Many media reports credit high school students at the Edward H. White High School in Jacksonville, Florida as originating the challenge. It simply requires participants to hold a frozen pose while the song "Black Beatles" by hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd's new song plays in the background.

Since going viral, hundreds of videos have been shared, including even one by the Chicago Bears.
