Antiques Appraised for a Good Cause

Head to NBC Chicago Studio 5 Plaza Friday to get your antique appraised

Do you have really unique family heirlooms or other objects in your home that you've gathered over the years? Are you curious as to how much they are worth? Here's a way to get them appraised and help a good cause at the same time.

Gary Sohmers and Daniel Buck Soules, well-known for being appraisers of antiques and fine art, are going to use their skills not only to help you determine the going price of your antiques, but also to raise money and awareness for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Sohmers and Soules will be at NBC Chicago's Studio 5 plaza starting at 5 a.m. on Friday, September 24th to take a look at your treasures.  A $10 donation is suggested to benefit the Susan G Komen for the Cure. They will only have time to help about 50 people, therefore it's first come, first serve.

On Saturday, you can bring your antiques to Plaza del Lago's 7th Annual North Shore Treasures from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 1515 N. Sheridan Rd. in Wilmette.

Plaza del Lago also suggests a $10 donation to Komen Chicago for each item appraised, with a limit of five items per person.

In case of inclement weather, event will be held in The Arcade at Plaza del Lago.
