A firefighter has been hospitalized following an early morning fire that spread across three buildings and displaced 10 people on the North Side.
The fire was reported shortly before 7:00 a.m. Saturday on the 3800 block of North Whipple Street. It then spread to two nearby buildings, said fire department spokesman Quention Curtis.
A firefighter in his mid-50s was taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries, Curtis said. No one else was hurt.
The fire was under control, crews remained on the scene to search for a possible cause.
