A 10-month-old boy was dubbed a “miracle baby” after he survived a fall from a third-story window Tuesday morning.
Kyan Powell fell out of the family’s Gary apartment complex when a loose window screen gave way, according to the Chicago Tribune.
Kyan’s mother, Tiesha Powell, told the Tribune she dozed off while Kyan and his sister were watching television and woke up to a neighbor knocking on her door because they heard Kyan crying on the lawn after his fall.
Kyan was reportedly flown to Comer Children’s Hospital with lacerations to his liver and a contusion on his lung while Powell was questioned by Indiana child protection officials.
He was in intensive care as of Wednesday morning but is expected to move to a regular room soon where he will be monitored for internal bleeding, the Tribune reports.
