A man's secret cash stash may have been disguised a little too well.
A Wilmette man had secretly been hiding $2,500 in his parent's house, until the cash collection was accidentally thrown out, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The man filed a police report for the money June 30 after discovering the envelope containing the plastic-wrapped grouping of $20 and $100 bills was gone June 7.
The man had been hiding the envelope in a drop ceiling of his parents' basement. His parents hired contractors to do work on the home, who unknowingly threw the envelope away after finding it on the basement floor.
