Man Stabbed, Beaten While Parking Car in Lakeview

Police are looking for a group of men who beat and stabbed a man during an armed robbery early Tuesday on Chicago’s North Side.

Authorities said the attack unfolded when two men, ages 21 and 37, were parking a car in the 2800 block of North Halsted around midnight in the city’s Lakeview neighborhood when two other cars pulled up. Multiple men got out of the other vehicles, police said, and approached the men parking the car.

One of the suspects displayed a firearm when they announced the robbery, police said.

The 37-year-old put his hands up when confronted by the men, according to police, and was left uninjured, but a gold chain was stolen from his neck.

At the same time, another one of the suspects grabbed the 21-year-old and began to stab him and beat him, police said.

The offenders then got into their vehicles and fled, according to police.

Police say one of the victims is a documented gang member.

Area North detectives are investigating the incident. No one is in custody.
