Loyola Ramblers' Advancement Leaves Fans Speechless

What a time to be alive!

Fans erupted as the Ramblers scored a buzzer beater that will take the team to the Sweet 16 in Atlanta.

Loyola defeated the Tennessee Volunteers 63 to 62 on Saturday night.

This year’s team broke the school record for wins set by the 19-63 championship team.

There’s no doubt the team is grateful for its fans and all the support they encompass.

Some fans at the Bulldog Ale House on North Sheridan were left speechless when the game officially ended and the team’s advancement was confirmed.

“I’ve wanted this to happen for the whole time that I’ve been a Rambler,” said class of 2012 alumni Alex Ralston. “I…I can’t even comprehend what just happened.”

This is the first Illinois team to go to the Sweet Sixteen since 2007.
