A 32-year-old woman was wounded when three people beat and robbed her at gunpoint in her home Tuesday in Lincoln Park.
She was in the residence about 9:10 p.m. in the 400 block of West Fullerton Parkway when she heard a knock on her door, Chicago police said. When she unlocked it, three males rushed in, hit her multiple times in the head and pointed a gun at her.
The trio took property from the residence and ran off in an unknown direction, police said.
"I ran into my room because I didn’t know what was going on," said building resident Shannon House.
Police sources said after the men left, the victim was able to get her neighbor’s attention for help.
The incident rattled nerves for residents who live in the building.
"For something like that to happen, you know, it’s out of the ordinary, unusual," said another resident, Rob Griffin.

Building residents told NBC 5 there is no building security. However, a key is needed to get in, or simply typing in a building access code. Other than that, NBC 5 was told there are also cameras inside the hallways.
"They’re telling us that the person was buzzed into the apartment building," Houser said.
Another resident who claims to be the victim’s neighbor says the home invasion occurred on the fifth floor.
The woman’s condition was stabilized at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, police said.
No arrests have been made as Area North detectives investigate.
