The southbound lanes of Interstate 57 re-opened Monday morning after being closed while authorities cleared up an early morning car accident that injured five people.
Police say a full-size van rolled over on I-57 around 1:30 a.m. near 105th Street.
The Chicago Fire Department reports the van brought down a light pole, and at least one person was ejected from the van in the accident.
Four people were taken to area hospitals in serious-to-critical condition. A fifth was taken to the hospital in fair-to-serious condition.
The outbound lanes were re-opened about an hour after the crash.
No word yet what caused the accident.
