Hundreds of Cases of Heinz Gravy Recalled Before Thanksgiving Due to Labeling Issue

Hundreds of cases of Heinz gravy have been recalled due to a labeling issue just days before Thanksgiving.

The FDA said the roughly 500 cases of Heinz HomeStyle Bistro Au Jus Gravy are being voluntarily recalled because some of the jars may be mislabeled as Heinz Pork Gravy and may not show they contain milk and soy.

“People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk or soy run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product,” the recall alert said.

There have been no reported illnesses as of Tuesday.

Recalled jars can be identified with UPC 013000798907. They were distributed to retailers across the United States.

“We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed,” Kraft Heinz said in a statement.

The 12 oz jars of Heinz HomeStyle Gravy Bistro Au Jus are the only Heinz product being recalled. No other size or flavor has been mislabeled.

Anyone who purchased the product is being told not to eat it and to instead bring it to the store where it was bought for an exchange or full refund.
