Girl Sexually Assaulted in Englewood: Police

Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a girl in Englewood on the South Side about two weeks ago.

The girl--whose exact age was not provided--was walking sometime between 1 and 2 p.m. June 22 in the 6500 block of South Parnell Avenue when a man grabbed her from behind, showed a handgun and forced her into a vacant lot nearby where he sexually assaulted her, according to a community alert from Chicago Police.

The attacker was described as a 6-foot black man about 30 years old, with a medium build and brown eyes. He was wearing a black hoodie, black pants, black Timberland boots and a black bandana across his face, police said.
