Fire officials responded to a 72-unit apartment building Monday night on Chicago’s North Side after a blaze broke out in the structure’s walls.
The Chicago Fire Department was battling the flames in the 5700 block of North Kenmore Avenue in the Edgewater Beach neighborhood about 9:12 p.m. The fire was extinguished by about 9:30 p.m.
One person was transported for a “minor issue,” the department said.
The church across the street was being used as a warming station.
No other information was immediately available.
