Trump Tower Penthouse Sells for $17 Million to Chicago Entrepreneur

The purchase goes down in history as the city’s largest residential real estate transaction to date

Chicago-based tech entrepreneur Sanjay Shah, 46, forked over $17 million in cash Monday for the 89th floor penthouse at the Trump International Hotel and Tower.

The purchase goes down in history as the city’s largest residential real estate transaction to date. But Shah isn’t putting away his pocket book just yet.

The Vistex, Inc. founder and CEO plans to spend another $15 million to design and build out the raw 14,260-square-foot space with custom specifications and finishes.

The five-bedroom penthouse condo, originally on the market for $32 million, currently boasts as the highest residence in the Western Hemisphere, with 16-foot ceilings and a 360-degree view offering sights of every landmark in the city.
