Reputed Mobster's Stashed Items To Be Auctioned

The items are valued at $500,000-plus

Convicted reputed mobster Frank Calabrese Sr. is selling nearly $500,000-plus in stashed valuables, but not by choice.

Texas auction house Gaston & Sheehan will sell more than 250 loose diamonds, multiple gold necklaces, gold coins, engagement rings and watches, among other luxury items, in an online auction starting July 10.

This is the second auction of seized items from Calabrese's Oak Brook home after Federal Investigators raided the house back in 2010.

In 2011, the same auction firm sold rare cash found in a compartment in Calabrese's basement and raked in $245,860.

Proceeds from the online auction will go toward paying $4.4 million in government fines and restitution Calabrese still owes.

Calabrese is serving a life sentence in prison since his January 2009 conviction in the Family Secrets mob trial, where he was held responsible for more than a dozen killings.

The online public auction of the items will be held through July 24 at www.txauction.com.
