Boy Brings Grenade to North Aurora School

The middle school student faces disorderly conduct charges

A North Aurora boy was charged Tuesday with bringing a grenade to school, police said.

Jewel Middle School officials notified police around 9 a.m. Tuesday after students reported a 12-year-old boy brought the grenade in his book bag, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Kane County Bomb Squad was called and found the grenade to be inoperable, the Sun-Times reported.

The student faces discipline at school and disorderly conduct charges.
