Chicago Police are searching for a man and a woman who robbed a South Side beauty supply store Monday, stealing cash and human hair extensions.
Police say the pair visited John's Beauty Supply (11109 S. Western Ave.) twice in the morning -- apparently casing the store -- and shortly before noon, made their move.
Two female employees, aged 21 and 57 years old, were inside the store when the suspects entered. Police say the man pulled out a handgun and his female accomplice pepper-sprayed both employees.
The man pushed the clerks to the floor, pulled out a bag and filled it with thousands of dollars worth of human hair extensions, along with cash from the register. An employee's purse containing cash, credit cards and ID was also stolen.
The younger clerk was treated at the scene and the other woman was transferred to a nearby hospital, treated and released.
The male robber is described as a black male, aged 18-22 years old, around 6-feet-2 inches tall and 200 pounds with brown eyes, a medium complexion and black hair cut in a fade. He was wearing a red sweatshirt with a design and orange jeans.
The female robber was described as a black female in her mid-20s, around 5-feet-3 inches tall and 160 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. She was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
