1 Dead in Motorcycle Crash in North Suburban Arlington Heights

The crash happened at approximately 3:20 p.m. in the area of Dundee and Wilke roads

A man died in a motorcycle crash on Monday in north suburban Arlington Heights, police confirmed.

The crash happened at approximately 3:20 p.m. in the area of Dundee and Wilke roads.

Westbound Dundee Road near Wilkie was expected to remain closed in the hours following the crash, according to a tweet from the Village of Arlington Heights.

A 36-year-old motorcycle driver was heading westbound when a witness said the motorcycle wobbled and left the road, police said in a news release. The motorcycle came to rest in the grassy shoulder.

The unidentified driver was taken to Northwest Community Hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead.

His body was transported to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office for a post mortem examination.

A preliminary investigation indicated the rider of the 2005 Honda Goldwing was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, police said.
