Antioch Teacher Accused of Inflating Grades

English teacher is football coach's wife

An English teacher at Antioch Community High School was charged Friday with computer tampering and is accused of changing the grades of dozens of students.

Sara Glashagel, 27, of Elk Grove Village is free on $1,000 bond.

Police said Glashagel is accused of changing the grades of 64 students, including 41 football players. Her husband is the head football coach at the north suburban school.

She allegedly inflated 240 grades over a week-long period in September. The investigation began after another teacher noticed several students' grades had been changed.

Glashagel faces up to a year in jail if she's convicted.

Mike Nekritz, the Co-Supt. of District 117, said it's "in the realm of possibility" that Glashagel could be fired.
